Product photography is an important element for any business. It’s an opportunity to showcase your products.
I recently did a product photography shoot for Poppet Post, a local Cape Town business that offers subscription boxes for kids. Every second month they put together boxes that include a range of fun and educational toys, books and activities that are guaranteed to keep your little ones entertained. The items included in each box are chosen according to specific developmental milestones of children from ages 0-5.
Why product photography is important
These days e-commerce is a cost-effective way for businesses to market their goods – there’s no need to spend money on renting a space. But this means that product photography is key to converting potential window shoppers into customers as they aren’t able to walk into a shop to browse your products. The photographs you use to sell your products need to convince customers that they should spend their hard earned money.
According to Shopify, “More than half of online shoppers think that product photos are more important than product information, reviews, and ratings. Your images are like windows into your store, and the more representative they are, the more buyers trust you and the momentum they build to wards completing a purchase.”
Here are more product photos I’ve taken for an awesome Cape Town business, Modern & Tribal, that sells the most incredible leather handbags (and so many other beautiful products). Plus, delivery in South Africa is free!
